In the creation of Highland Park 15 Year Old Viking Heart, Gordon Motion, Highland Park's Master Whisky Maker, carefully curated a selection of predominantly sherry seasoned European oak casks to infuse warm and spicy notes. Additionally, sherry seasoned American oak casks were chosen to provide a harmonious touch of sweet vanilla. To achieve a smooth and refined flavor profile, a select few refill casks were thoughtfully integrated. Gordon made the decision to bottle this whisky at 44% ABV, allowing its vibrant fruitiness and unique heathery peat characteristics to be showcased with distinction.

Tasting Note by Bruichladdich:Nose: Warm peat smoke and red fruits open on the nose, moving to stewed pears, melon and a subtle marine note. This 21 Year Old Single Malt, refined in Argentinian red wine barrels, is infused with the distinctive flavors of Malbec, including blackberry, plum, and black cherry. Initially distilled on November 14, 2001, it was aged for more than twenty years in a mix of re-fill barrels and hogsheads. The whisky then underwent a finishing process of approximately 8 months in French Oak wine casks from the Finca Ambrosia Single Estate winery in Argentina, enhancing its complex profile.

The Tomintoul 15 Years Old Madeira Cask Finish, distilled in 2008, initially matured in ex-bourbon American oak casks before undergoing a special finishing process in Madeira wine casks personally selected by Master Distiller Robert Fleming from Portugal's Madeira Islands. These Madeira wine casks have flawlessly complemented the Tomintoul Single Malt, infusing it with rich fruit flavours that enhance the whisky's character and complexity. Bottled at 46% abv, it maintains its natural colour and avoids chill filtration. This release is limited to only 6,654 individually numbered bottles.
