This method endows the malt with a superb amber hue and aromas of caramelised pineapple, vanilla, and subtle hints of black tea, raisins, citrus, and a gentle nuttiness. Its smoothness and rich flavour remain prominent, lingering well after the glass is set aside. Tasting Note by Indri: Nose: Gentle and mellow on the nose. Hints of black tea, caramelised pineapple with a whiff of oak comes forward, followed by vanilla and honey from the bourbon oak and traces of spiced tannins from the European oak, finally topped up with vinous raisin and sweet sherry notes.Palate: Elegant richness, smooth and warm on the sides of the mouth. Drú is a cask strength single malt from the Indian brand Indri, distilled and matured in bourbon casks under the extreme temperatures of India's northern plains. The name 'Drú' originates from Sanskrit, meaning wood, tree, or a wooden vessel, which ties back to ancient mythology where Dru was a vessel used to collect 'soma' for the Gods. This whisky, bottled at 57.2% ABV without any added colour or chill-filtering, retains the robust flavours shaped by its unique cask profile and ageing conditions.
