First, it's worth praising JPHA in general. Really really happy with these guys! Amazingly priced bottle, arrived on time, and came with a bonus tiny dram!
The nose on this one is brimming with life, you have vanilla, milk chocolate, fresh fruit - limes and sour apples, and of course salty sea-weedy briny medicinal laphroaig smoke. The palate carries on with the same notes from the nose, with the amplification of the vanilla and sea salt notes. Finally, it finishes with a salted dark chocolate that brings everything to a close. Great whisky and exceptional value when on sale - of course, it goes without saying but you have to be a peat lover to enjoy this one.
I would recommend trying out batch 16 of this as well, it's my personal favourite out of the three batches I've tried (the 15,16 and 17), and it leans much more into that salty, briney, sea-weedy oak character.

A very fine tasting whisky with or without water was very smooth and enjoyable.
One of my favourites. Smooth and well balanced. A great introduction to whisky and so easy to drink. Full of flavour and light on the tongue. Add to this, the price and what’s not to like.
A gift but I have had the 12 yr old previously so I high hopesfor the 15 yr old. JPHA are very professional and I would happily recommend them.

Irish whiskey my preferred drink and I have twice tbeen to the Teeling distillery in The Liberties area and sampled most of the whiskeys there. This Rising series 3 Ruby Port is outstanding from the other 21 year old Rising series. I lovely my Port as well.
So much so, I have 6 bottles of this one in my storage so I can enjoy for a while favourite Irish whiskey.
This has wave after wave of flavours bursting through.
