Very nice dropof whisky
I find myself disappointed with this whisky. For a 5 year old it is a very smooth drinker, for 59% alcohol it is a very smooth drinker, and for 108ppm peat it isn’t crazy peaty but has a pleasant background smokiness. Maybe the high alcohol and high peat are balancing each other and technically it is an achievement. But I don’t find much else to savour, and the finish for me is pretty short, so frankly it doesn’t justify its premium price. I’d rather have a nice ashy sip of Laphroaig Lore with its lingering grapey finish.
