Indri Dru Cask Strength
Drú is a cask strength single malt from the Indian brand Indri, distilled and matured in bourbon casks under the extreme temperatures of India's northern plains. The name 'Drú' originates from Sanskrit, meaning wood, tree, or a wooden vessel, which ties back to ancient mythology where Dru was a vessel used to collect 'soma' for the Gods. This whisky, bottled at 57.2% ABV without any added colour or chill-filtering, retains the robust flavours shaped by its unique cask profile and ageing conditions. Tasting Note by Indri: Nose: Whiff of mixed fruit basket, vanilla, subtle citrus hints, gentle spice, chocolate and honey tones expressing robust nose profile.Palate: Sweetish fruity forward taste with, soft spice followed immediately with sweet vanilla, hint of chocolate with wood lactones and citrus appearing from the back of the palate.Finish: Fuller bodies, complex with mixed fruit finish that is fairly long, chewable and salivating dram.

Indri Trini The Three Wood exemplifies a sensory delight crafted through the unique blend of three distinct wood casks. This whisky reaches its full splendour as the malts mature in ex-bourbon, ex-French wine, and ex-sherry casks. This method endows the malt with a superb amber hue and aromas of caramelised pineapple, vanilla, and subtle hints of black tea, raisins, citrus, and a gentle nuttiness. Its smoothness and rich flavour remain prominent, lingering well after the glass is set aside. Tasting Note by Indri: Nose: Gentle and mellow on the nose. Hints of black tea, caramelised pineapple with a whiff of oak comes forward, followed by vanilla and honey from the bourbon oak and traces of spiced tannins from the European oak, finally topped up with vinous raisin and sweet sherry notes.Palate: Elegant richness, smooth and warm on the sides of the mouth. Gentle spice and woody characteristics.Finish: A subtle and balanced finish, each flavour compliments the other without dominating each other. I think this is a superb whisky, and the decanter it is in is also excellent quality. I fully support the donation to "Walking with the Wounded" and I guess the only downside is that only 1200 bottles were available as it is definitely a whisky I would buy again.

Light, smooth, delicate
I first tasted this a week ago, and loved the smooth flavour. I don't care for peaty whiskey, so this is perfect for my taste buds, using bourbon and then sherry casks. I am a bourbon drinker as well, so I search for whiskey matured in bourbon casks. Great by itself, or in a cocktail with two cherries!
