    Dissapointing

I'd heard only good things about Arran whiskys so decided to try out the Port Cask. Non-chill filtered, no colouring, 50% abv. Ticks all the boxes, right? Unfortunately found this to have a watery mouthfeel and taste overly sweet. Its not terrible, Ive tried to enjoy it but just don't, which is really disappointing. I'd recommend the Glendronach Port Cask over this offering from Arran.

    Nice dram!

Haven't found an Arran whisky yet that disappoints !
Maybe not in the Dalmore port reserve league but still very nice !

    Surprisingly smooth

This was my first time trying the Arran Port Cask finish. I was taken back by how smooth it was, especially for a no age statement bottling. Sweeter than the sherry casks I’m used to but very pleasant. Not a particularly complex flavour. I normally add a small drop of water to my Whisky but I found this best left neat. It doesn’t taste like it’s 50% alcohol.

    Good quality Port cask

I'm a big Arran fan and i love Port cask whiskies. So if the price is right (not often) then I'll grab a bottle or two.

Very smooth despite a fairly high ABV and it has a not too sweet taste. I'm not one for trying to explain all the tasting notes but it has a good mouth feel and the aftertaste is really good
