Bowmore 20 Year Old Oak Voyage (Snarkitecture Captivo Collection 2026)

Bowmore 20 Year Old Oak Voyage (Snarkitecture Captivo Collection 2026) is a limited-edition Islay single malt Scotch whisky created in collaboration with Snarkitecture, the New York-based design practice founded by Daniel Arsham and Alex Mustonen. Released as Edition 01 of the Captivo Collection, the whisky brings together Bowmore's traditional whisky-making methods and Snarkitecture's approach to art, architecture and design.

Matured for 20 years, the whisky has been finished in a selection of Oloroso sherry seasoned American oak butts. The use of 100% American oak allows the whisky to develop a balance of sweetness, dried fruit and oak characteristics, while the Oloroso sherry seasoning contributes additional richness. This finishing process complements Bowmore's established combination of gentle peat smoke, fruit and maritime influences.

The collaboration takes inspiration from Bowmore's No.1 Vaults, the historic maturation warehouse on Islay. During a visit to the distillery, Snarkitecture co-founder Alex Mustonen explored the island's rugged landscape and the architectural features of the warehouses. These observations informed the packaging design, which features a flowing contour motif known as the Vivid Portal. The layered illustration represents the relationship between surface and depth, reflecting the gradual discovery of flavours developed through extended whisky maturation.

Presented in a specially designed black gift box with orange and red contour artwork, Bowmore 20 Year Old Oak Voyage is bottled at 50.8% ABV. The 2026 release marks the first edition of the Captivo Collection, combining a 20-year-old Islay single malt with a distinctive design collaboration.

Nose: With warm, rich chestnut hues, notes of salted toffee, dried fruits, orange peel merge with tobacco and honey
