Caisteal Chamuis Heavily Peated Blended Malt

A classic 'Island style' Blended Malt Scotch Whisky, bold and smoky yet approachable, thanks to a double cask finish that balances the robust Island peat notes, making it an ideal entry point into the world of peated whiskies. This whisky is a rich blend of select Single Malts, all distilled on Scottish islands and then re-casked in first-fill bourbon barrels for added depth and a smooth oak-spice finish.

Initially aged in refill and first-fill American Oak Hogsheads, these individual Malts are blended and undergo a final finishing phase in smaller 200-litre fresh Bourbon Barrels. This additional maturation and blending process introduce layers of fresh, fragrant smoky oak to the original medicinal peaty aromas, along with a touch of sweetness and heightened vanilla tones on the palate.

Nose: The scent offers hints of seaweed, earthy peat, smouldering embers, soy sauce, lemon, and vanilla.
Palate: The flavor presents a rich smokiness, abundant maltiness, sweet vanilla, butterscotch, a subtle touch of tar, and citrusy oak notes.
Finish: The finish is lengthy and smoky, with a satisfying dominance of toasty oak that emerges towards the end.
