Dalmore Vintage 2005 18 Year Old (2023 Edition)

Situated on the banks of the Cromarty Firth in the Scottish Highlands, The Dalmore distillery has been producing whisky since 1839. This expression forms part of The Dalmore Vintages Collection, a series of annual releases in which Master Distiller Richard Paterson hand selects casks that best capture the character of a specific distillation year. The 2005 Vintage represents 18 years of careful maturation, bottled in 2023 at natural colour and non-chill filtered to preserve full integrity of flavour.

Maturation begins in American white oak ex-Bourbon casks, which lay the foundation of the spirit's structure, before hand-selected Matusalem Sherry casks and Vintage 2005 Sherry casks are introduced to deepen and enrich the final profile. The layering of these cask influences is central to The Dalmore house style, producing a whisky of considerable weight and complexity. At 49.3% ABV and presented in The Dalmore's distinctive presentation box, this is a release well suited to the serious collector and makes a compelling gift for those with discerning taste.

Nose: Aromas of dark chocolate, salted caramel, antique leather, and rich orange citrus.
Palate: Rich cacoa, blood orange, dark fruits, marzipan, and moist ginger cake.
Finish: Madagascan vanilla with Seville orange, a rich nuttiness and long, dark chocolate complexities.
