Scallywag is a small batch Scotch whisky crafted exclusively from Speyside malts, including Mortlach, Macallan, and Glenrothes. Bottled at 46% ABV and non-chill-filtered, it showcases a deep, rich colour from its maturation in Spanish Sherry casks. This whisky, part of Douglas Laing’s Remarkable Regional Malts range, offers notes of dark fruits, chocolate, and spice, complemented by a hint of vanilla.

Tasting Note by Douglas Laing & Co:
Nose: Sweetly spiced character woven onto delicious vanilla.
Palate: Sweet stewed fruit, Christmas pudding, dark chocolate and spices.
Finish: Zesty orange, sweet tobacco, cocoa and rich fruit cake.

a big order, but this is the first one I sampled. For blended malts, I have always stuck with Monkeys etc...., and it never disappoints, but friends commended Scallywag. Wow! Different, but for an avowed speyside fan, this is terrific, and VFM exceptional. My palate is so uneducated that it's pointless to pretend; but I loved this; gentle, smooth and soft, but still with some richness and depth. Bravo
