Maturing in American oak before a final stage in Guyanese demerara rum barrels, this whisky acquires a unique, tropical essence. It combines cooked sugar, molasses, and tropical fruit flavors, a perfect embodiment of Campbeltown's fusion of diverse styles. The Double Cask Rum Cask Finish reflects a long-standing tradition, with records from as early as 1815 indicating rum casks in the town, predating Glen Scotia’s establishment.
Tasting Note by Glen Scotia:
Nose: Cooked sugar, maritime sea spray and tropical fruits.
Palate: Rich and exotic. Sweet notes of cooked sugar and molasses are balanced by tropical fruit notes of coconut, banana and sweet peach.
Finish: Warming spice and maritime notes linger.
