Description

Distilled and matured at the Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown, at the heart of Speyside, this 21 year old expression represents one of the most distinctive releases in the distillery's core range. Founded in 1887 by William Grant, Glenfiddich remains family owned and is one of the most celebrated single malt producers in Scotland. Two decades of patient maturation in traditional oak casks allows the distillery's signature character to develop fully before Malt Master Brian Kinsman hand selects individual barrels for the final stage.

Those selected casks are transferred into Caribbean reserva rum casks for a finishing period that introduces a layer of tropical warmth and spice to the established Speyside foundation. The result is a whisky of considerable complexity, balancing the restrained richness of a long Speyside maturation with the more animated character that rum cask finishing imparts. At 40% ABV, it is approachable without sacrificing depth, and presents exceptionally well as a gift or a considered addition to a maturing collection.

Tasting Note by Glenfiddich:
Nose: Intense and vanilla sweet. Floral, hints of banana, figs, rich toffee, new leather and oak.
Palate: Initially soft, then brisk, vibrant and drying, peppery, a touch of smoke, oak, lime, ginger and spices.
Finish: Very long, warming, dry and spicy.

Gorgeous case lovely presentation

Cannot comment on what the Whisky tastes like as I just like collecting, this particular bottle in the orange case is really nice and looks so well next to my other Glenfiddich I purchased. Brilliant swivel to reveal the bottle, absolutely in love with it and hopefully the value will go up on this.

Great Service

Ordered this special bottle together with the Aspinal complimentary gift as a present for someone. External packaging arrived damaged causing bash to gift box. Messaged together with photos and James from JPHA was on the phone to me within the hour (8pm at night) apologising and undertaking to resolve immediately.

This was unfortunate and not really anything to do with JPHA who took responsibility, resolved immediately and put things right as quick as they could. Great approach to customer service, nice team and quick service. Can’t recommend enough.

Super gift

I like giving this as a gift for special occasions, especially to those who are new to whisky. The low ABV gives it such a smooth lightness to sip despite the rum cask finishing suggesting it'd be heavier fare. And whilst not the important bit, it's lovely packaging tha other distillers would be weak advised to look at upping their flimsy cardboard boxes. Let's be honest, it won't satisfy the whisky purists amongst us, but it will go down very well as a present.
