Arriving in a stunning gift box, Jaywalk Heirloom Rye is meticulously selected Single Barrel whiskey, bottled wholly at Cask Strength (114-116) and featuring a blend of 75% Horton Rye, an heirloom rye varietal not commercially grown since the 1800s. After 7 years of ageing, it boasts a robust, rich rye whiskey flavour with characteristics unique to each single barrel. This limited time offering consists of only 500 cases, and once it's gone, it won't return until at least Fall 2024.
Tasting Note by Jaywalk:
Nose: Aromas of ripe banana, Tootsie Roll, and light caramel are accompanied by hints of birch and strawberry shortcake.
Palate: The palate offers notes of cinnamon and saffron, akin to Red Hots or Hot Tomales candy, with a touch of dusty rye and toffee essence.
