Laphroaig 10 Year Old Cask Strength (Batch 15) is a robust expression of Laphroaig's classic 10 Year Old, boasting a bold character and an impressive 56.5% ABV. This single malt matures in charred ex-Bourbon barrels for a full decade before being bottled at its natural cask strength, preserving its powerful and distinctive flavours.

Tasting Note by Laphroaig:
Nose: The nuanced aroma reveals whiffs of sweet cereals, fresh oak and pipe tobacco with touches of leather, nutmeg and vanilla.
Palate: The Original Cask Strength is sweet and spicy with notes of vanilla, toffee and sea salt along with hints of cinnamon and pepper.
Finish: Long finish with lingering spice, oak tannins, iodine and sea salt.

An excellent variant of a well loved, full strength, monster. I find it to be (slightly more integrated and balanced than batch 17, and much better than 16).

Laphroaig 10 at Cask Strength - What's not to love?

First, it's worth praising JPHA in general. Really really happy with these guys! Amazingly priced bottle, arrived on time, and came with a bonus tiny dram!
The nose on this one is brimming with life, you have vanilla, milk chocolate, fresh fruit - limes and sour apples, and of course salty sea-weedy briny medicinal laphroaig smoke. The palate carries on with the same notes from the nose, with the amplification of the vanilla and sea salt notes. Finally, it finishes with a salted dark chocolate that brings everything to a close. Great whisky and exceptional value when on sale - of course, it goes without saying but you have to be a peat lover to enjoy this one.

I would recommend trying out batch 16 of this as well, it's my personal favourite out of the three batches I've tried (the 15,16 and 17), and it leans much more into that salty, briney, sea-weedy oak character.

First Order from you and it was great to make it a Laphroaig. I know it's not to everyones taste but I dont care - it's still my favourite - that smokeyness -gosh.

Laphroaig never dissappoints

My whisky journey started with Laphroaig 10 and it was my go to until my pallet developed and I began to experience higher strength bottles in which case the standard release began to loose some of it's intensity. The cask strength is everything the original has and so much more. You can read tasting notes online, but for me this is one of my go to tipples. I need to invest more in the batch side as can't comment further than the 15 but once this is done ,I'll be looking for another batch
