Description

Laphroaig 10 Year Old Sherry Oak Finish stands out as a remarkable expression. It combines the unforgettable flavours of the classic 10 Year Old Laphroaig with the sweet and complex influence of Oloroso sherry casks. This unique whisky begins with the same traditional process, aging in ex-Bourbon barrels, before it rests in Oloroso sherry casks to gain extra depth and character. Each sherry oak cask is hand-selected to create a truly exceptional single malt.

Tasting Note by Laphroaig:
Nose: Sweet and peaty with medicinal notes of Manuka honey, hospital bandages, antiseptic lotion, Germolene, strong cloves aroma but also grilled smoky bacon, a distinctive character of sweet leather, iodine and pine tar.
Palate: Sweet and aromatic, with rich wax and furniture polish notes followed by treacle toffee, maple syrup, bitter dark chocolate combined with pencil shavings, pine needle and cedar scented wood.
Finish: Finished in European oak Oloroso sherry barrels.

Excellent sherried peated dram. Well worth the money

Christmas smoky cake, nutty, with toffee and cinnamon. Smoky grilled bacon with a honey coating, leaving a full mouthfeel. Well worth the money.

The difference between this and the ordinary 10 year old Laphroaig is chalk and cheese. This is astounding better! Moresmoke, more after taste not as medicinal. You are left with a buttery smooth taste that lingers forever. Lush!

From ordering to drinking, it was a pleasant experience! My whisky arrived as expected, well packed and timely. Laphroaig is one a my favourites anyway but, when aged in sherry casks, it jumps to another level.

Sherried Laphroaig

Sherry + Peat is a perfect combo. This Laphroaig with nice age statement is the best example in this category. Its lovely daily dram for every Islay lover, at this £45 is a still and must buy for every whisky enthusiast. 😁🥂🙋‍♂️

I love Laphroaig and thought because I love sherried whiskies I would love this one and as nice as it is it isn’t as good as I expected.
That’s not to say it’s bad but it wasn’t as good as expected.
