Description

Ledaig 10 is a meticulously crafted 10 year old single malt whisky known for its unique smoky profile, originating from Tobermory Distillery. Much like all their single malts, this peated Ledaig undergoes no chill filtration and retains its natural colour. It's bottled at 46.3% ABV and is made using peated barley (30-40ppm) of the concerto variety.

Tasting Note by Tobymory:
Nose: Sweet briny smokiness with distinct island character and playful notes that hint at mild antiseptic, creosote, wax polish, mint chocolate and floral seaside aromas. Soft peat, gentle smoke.
Palate: Tantalisingly sweet, medicinal flavours infused with enticing sparks of spicy pepper and dried fruit with rich peaty smoke and a velvety vanilla and malty creaminess.
Finish: A wondrous union of sublimely spicy white pepper, the vibrant sweetness of liquorice and a kick of cloves with a exquisite lingering saltiness.

If this Whiskey was in crufts it would be best in show for , looks, flavour and the ability to make me smile with every sip.

Wonderful Single Malt!

Wonderful single malt! Sweet and smoky, with a warming spiciness, and a salty finish. On the way you meet fruity, and lightly herbal notes, with a hint of dark caramel. Marvellous dram, and a great price too!

Nice

Lovely lightly peaty whisky.

It's peaty, but not like a laphraoig.
It has nice depth and is pretty smooth and balanced. Nice dram.

Undemanding whisky

This is very easy to drink, very undemanding of the drinker. It doesn't set the world alight but is perfectly nice, I will order another bottle when this one's finished and if you can get it for around £40 as it is at the moment, it is well worth it.

Lovely island malt. Smoky aroma and taste - I'd say similar to Talisker. Discovered it as part of a selection of 6 malts I was given as a present: it stood out from the others by a distance. I do, admittedly, have a preference for island malts over others though...
