Description

Ledaig Hebridean Moon takes its inspiration from Mull's historic Baliscate Standing Stones, known for centuries as markers of the lunar cycle, symbolising renewal and reflection. This single malt represents the first spirit from Tobermory Distillery's new stills, introduced in 2014. As the distillery transitioned from its older stills, this release marks the start of a fresh chapter, mirroring the lunar cycle’s theme of renewal.

Aged quietly for over ten years in carefully selected second-fill bourbon casks, this whisky honours its Hebridean heritage, making it both a tribute to Mull and a unique limited edition.

Tasting Note by Tobermory:
Nose: An earthy smoke fades to reveal soft vanilla, double cream and candied fruit with a gentle spice and touch of cracked black pepper.
Palate: Packed full of citrus notes reminiscent of lemon drizzle cake, balanced with notes of fresh leather, tobacco and a hint of toasted oak.
Finish: A warm medicinal smoke lingers with a gentle cinnamon spice.

Very nice tipple

Very nice tipple. It didn't feel as strong as the 56ish % by volume indicates. Think that's a good thing. It still had the necessary depth and complexity you expect.

I really like this whisky.
Smooth, mellow, smokey.

Just what I love. It deserves an ice cube or two due to strength, and improves the flavours, enabling them to open up more.
It could be compared to the regular 10yo, but it offers a much richer, yet sweeter taste profile.
