Description

A unique single malt from the budding Lochlea distillery in the Lowlands, exclusively bottled for Inverarity Morton! Established in 2018, this whisky was produced in the distillery's second year and was stored in an ex-red wine hogshead in February 2020. By 2023, 410 bottles were extracted from this cask, with no added colour, no chill filtration, and at a powerful cask strength of 61.2% ABV.

Tasting Note by Lochlea:
Nose: Ripe strawberries and blackcurrents on the nose which opens up to zesty notes of vanilla.
Palate: A hint of sweetness comes through on the palate.
Finish: A beautiful finish of strawberries and cream.

Lochlea cask 127

Fantastic limited edition single cask fresh red wine whisky. Really interesting dram and hard to get hold of. Brilliant selection by and service from JPHA! Will definitely buy from them again.

Not great!

Bit disappointed with this. Have to mix as bit of water to stop the burn. The alcohol really comes through and unfortunately the flavour doesn't.

I like it , very good whisky 🥃

Young Whisky

After opening and taking the first drink I thought Id made a mistake, the taste was very bitter and long on the tongue. However after adding a few drops of water and leaving to air, the taste was much better and the red wine cask plays a massive influence on the taste and colour.
