      The Macallan 77 Years Old is the latest and most venerable release in The Red Collection, a remarkable series of aged single malts that celebrates the distillery’s enduring commitment to craftsmanship, heritage, and time. Distilled over seventy years ago and matured under the careful stewardship of multiple generations of whisky makers, this release stands as one of the oldest and rarest single malts ever bottled by The Macallan.

      The Red Collection draws inspiration from the significance of the colour red throughout The Macallan’s history — from founder Alexander Reid (whose surname means “the red one”), to early red-labelled bottlings of rare vintages. This 77 Year Old joins the esteemed ranks of the 40, 50, 60, 71, 74, and 78 Year Old expressions, offering collectors and connoisseurs an extraordinary glimpse into The Macallan’s oldest stocks.

      Tasting Note by Macallan:
      Nose: A beautifully balanced blend of citrus fruits with hints of woodsmoke and antique oak open on the nose, perfectly paired with sweet notes of raisin and plump, chewy dates.
      Palate: Extremely rich and resinous, sumptuous baked custard, crystalised ginger, marmalade, and sticky treacle open on the palate, before moving into a medley of dried fruit.
      Finish: Long with sweet woodsmoke, with the traditional flavour of Cherry Bakewell and the linger of tropical fruits.
