In April 2019, the New York Distilling Company introduced the Bottled in Bond edition of its flagship Ragtime Rye. This rye whiskey boasts a mash bill of 75% rye, 13% corn, and 12% malted barley, meeting the criteria for the Empire Rye designation by sourcing all its rye grain from New York state. After a maturation period of at least four years, it is bottled at a robust 50% ABV, offering a distinctive and flavorful rye whiskey experience.
Tasting Note by Ragtime Rye:
Nose: Dark fruits, maple syrup, red cola cubes, and a trace of white pepper and tart cherry.
Palate: Tannic oak, leather, jammy berries, and a hint of vanilla are cut through by nutmeg and cinnamon.
Finish: Eucalyptus and lemon peel, a little drying.
