Matured in American oak and finished in the finest Oloroso sherry casks, it boasts a rich and opulent taste. Situated on the historic Cawdor Estate, the Royal Brackla Distillery has a legacy dating back to 1812, making it one of the world's oldest distilleries, proudly standing on grounds associated with Shakespeare's Macbeth.

Sherry anyone?

Lovely drop this. The Royal Brackla 12 Year Old Sherry Cask pours a beautiful deep, dark colour that already promises good things. On the nose you get a rich sherry sweetness straight away – dried fruit, a bit of raisin and that warm, comforting sherry note.

The palate follows through nicely with the same sherried character. Smooth, slightly sweet, and really well balanced without being heavy. Very easy to drink and dangerously moreish.

It’s good enough that it’s definitely made me curious to try the 18-year-old next.

And as usual, JPHA were spot on with the service – quick delivery and perfectly packed.

Highly recommended if you enjoy a good sherry-influenced dram. 🥃

Imagine the likes of Laphroaig 10, Glengoyne 12 and Cragganmore 12 would follow suit.

Entry level expressions would become SO much more exciting

The Influence Of Oloroso

Expect a palate of luscious ripe fruits, including hints of juicy peaches and dark cherries, complemented by subtle undertones of chocolate and almonds. The finish is smooth and lingering.
