This bottle embodies true whisky craftsmanship, celebrating the art of American Oak sherry cask maturation from start to finish. The journey of Quercus Alba Distinction begins in the oak forests of North America, with the wood then transported to Spain. Here, in the renowned 'sherry triangle,' the casks are meticulously crafted over six years.
The staves are air-dried under the Mediterranean sun before being expertly assembled and toasted by skilled coopers. The casks are then seasoned with Oloroso sherry before making their way to Tamdhu.
As time passes, the vibrant new-make spirit interacts with the American Oak sherry cask, creating rich, fruity flavors and a stunning natural amber hue.
Tasting Note by Tamdhu:
Nose: Shortbread dipped in vanilla cream, oak, citrus and peppermint.
Palate: Rich, soft oak coats the mouth – giving way to plums and chocolate limes.
Finish: Unshakeable sherried oak fades to dried cherries and honeycomb.
