    Description

The Whiskymaker's Reserve No.7, the final and award-winning whisky in the signature series, is revealed with delight. Matured in the finest Spanish and American oak casks, including Oloroso, PX, and red wine, it offers a bold yet evolved flavor profile with an elegant sweetness. This edition is a culmination of an artistic exploration in maturation and blending, embodying the journey of The Lakes Single Malt towards defining its signature style with a growing sherry cask influence. No.7 is celebrated for its fragrance and refinement, featuring layers of honeyed fruits, cocoa nibs, and dark chocolate, while retaining the creamy texture and character of its predecessors, refined through the art of élevage.

This Lakes Whiskymaker's Reserve No.7 comes with a unique rocking glass tumbler, etched with The Lakes Distillery logo. Its weighted, rounded base lets the glass sway gently without spilling, adding a touch of playfulness to the whisky experience.

Tasting Note by The Lakes Distillery:
Nose: Fragrant sandalwood, almond friands and orchard fruits with a touch of baking spice.
Palate: Rich and creamy with honeyed fruits, currants, and a hint of dark chocolate.
Finish: Creamy and fragrant with warming spice and hints of cocoa nibs.

    A Revalation

Definitely a bottle I want on my shelf all the time. Looking forward to seeing what else these guys can do! Absolutely beautiful colour to the whisky and a beautiful bottle too. I've been sharing it with everyone I know. It is a hard hitting whisky and whilst I personally prefer it neat, everyone who has added some water to reduce that ABV punch has absolutely loved it. I can see myself pairing this with many a cigar.

    My personal tasting notes:
Nose: Atypical sherry notes with a hint of cocoa underneath.
Taste: Rich sweetness and spiciness; red berries, dates, liquorice and chocolate stand out.
Finish: Very nice warming spices, complemented by oak tannins. Perfect for those winter months. Flavour is lasting a good while too.

    Truly Exceptional

I 'discovered' The Lakes No7 whilst staying on holiday last Autumn near Hawkshead. Wanting to try something different and, gosh, I wasn't disappointed. At 52 % it was quite exceptional but, for me, benefitted with a cut of water.

Seeing this excellent offer from JPHA meant that I had to acquire it once again. Highly Recommended - Lakes 7 & and JPHA service
