The Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 Year Old single malt whisky begins its journey aging in traditional oak casks for 14 years. It is then finished in casks that previously held Caribbean rum. Malt Master David C. This limited edition Aberfeldy 21 Year Old, distilled on November 14, 2001, spent over 20 years maturing in re-fill barrels and hogsheads. The whisky was then finished for approximately eight months in French Oak casks from Finca Ambrosía, a single estate winery in Argentina. This finishing process adds a layer of Malbec influence, with flavours of blackberry, plum, and black cherry complementing Aberfeldy’s characteristic notes.
This limited release is accompanied by a bottle of Finca Ambrosía Viña Unica Malbec 2022, providing an opportunity to explore the connection between the whisky and the wine that inspired its final aging.
