A limited annual release from Bowmore, matured for three decades in a combination of Sherry hogsheads and Bourbon barrels. Distilled and aged on Islay, the whisky reflects Bowmore’s coastal setting and longstanding tradition of producing complex, peated single malts.
This edition continues the distillery’s theme of drawing inspiration from the natural surroundings of Islay—driftwood, sea glass, and the ever-present influence of the sea. Bottled at cask strength and non-chill filtered, the 2022 release is part of an ongoing 30 year old series, with each expression released in small quantities.
Tasting Note by Bowmore:Nose: Expressive and layered, led by the sweetness of heather honey. Notes of banana and peach unfold alongside pineapple, vanilla and soft butterscotch.Palate: Tropical in character, with fruit-forward depth and a gentle honeyed core. Soft peat smoke lingers in the background, complemented by a cool hint of eucalyptus.Finish: Calm and lingering, leaving a gentle warmth and the lasting impression of ripe fruit.
