The Balvenie French Oak stands as a vibrant single malt whisky that has undergone a finishing period in casks previously cradling wine sourced from the renowned French Charentes vineyards.
Pineau des Charentes, a fortified wine, is crafted by blending unfermented grape juice with Cognac eau-de-vie, followed by a maturation process. This distinctive wine is also crafted as a homemade product in the neighboring Deau-Sevres and Vendee regions.
The inspiration for this exploration into French Oak casks came from a suggestion by The Balvenie USA brand ambassador, Lorne Cousin. He urged Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE to consider these casks after a visit to the region with his family, where he fondly remembered savoring an aperitif.
This release marks The Balvenie's initial foray into the realm of French Oak. Pineau, resembling Cognac both in production and flavor, allows them to leverage the growing popularity of this flavor profile, complemented by its premium standing.
Tasting Note by Balvenie:Nose: Beautifully balanced light floral notes from lotus and geranium flowers dance between hints of fresh meadow grass and pealed apple skin.Palate: An energising zing from tangy lemon rind and grapefruit meet the delicate subtle sweetness of glazed fruits and spice from root ginger.Finish: Refreshingly concise.
The Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 Year Old single malt whisky begins its journey aging in traditional oak casks for 14 years. It is then finished in casks that previously held Caribbean rum. Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE prepares these casks with a blend of West Indian rums, which are later replaced by the aged whisky, allowing the wood to impart its final characteristics.Each bottle of this whisky comes with a complimentary Balvenie Tumbler.

Royal Brackla 18 Year Old Single Malt is matured in American oak and finished in the finest Palo Cortado sherry casks, it attains a rich and opulent flavour profile, embodying the essence of Royal Brackla's heritage and commitment to quality.

Smokehead Unfiltered Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a robust and unapologetically bold expression. The initial impression is one of intense, thick smoke, complemented by earthy undertones and hints of stout, ginger, and vanilla.
Tasting Note by Smokehead: Nose: Amongst the intense smoke, there are subtle notes of vanilla and stem ginger.Palate: A blend of oily walnuts, dark chocolate, and black pepper emerges amidst the dense smoke.Finish: The finish is dry, with a presence of medicinal herbs.
The single malt selected for this special release was distilled in 2006 and initially matured in exceptional ex-bourbon American oak casks stored in Glencadam's historic dunnage warehouses. Afterward, the single malt was expertly blended and further matured in Pedro Ximénez Sherry quarter casks from Andalucía, Spain, which added distinct flavours, enriching the complexity of the Glencadam Single Malt. Bottled at a robust 46% alc/vol, maintaining its natural colour and avoiding chill filtration, this limited release consists of only 4,188 bottles, each bearing its individual number.
Tasting Note by Glencadam:Nose: Indulgent aromas of sticky toffee pudding, black cherries, salted caramel and maple syrup mingled with dark berry fruits and cocoa powder.Palate: Rich layers of Black Forest gateaux, blackcurrant liquorice, cappuccino and crème caramel married with dates, prunes and sweet spices.Finish: Chocolate cherry liqueurs, frangipane tarts and golden raisins fading into espresso coffee and cosy cake spices.
Upon taking ownership of GlenAllachie, Master Distiller Billy Walker quickly made his mark by choosing Scottish barley, implementing a 160-hour fermentation, and overseeing a slow distillation process. With five decades of blending expertise, Billy's true mastery is evident in the distillery's 16 warehouses, which include casks from the 1970s. He handpicked a limited number of casks for the GlenAllachie 18 Year Old, which embodies the brand's rich and robust character with delicate notes of heather and butterscotch. This opulent Scotch whisky, refined in high-quality oak casks for 18 years, is presented at 46% ABV, unfiltered for chill, and retains its natural colour, exemplifying GlenAllachie's commitment to perfection.

Expertly crafted by Dr Bill, this limited-edition whisky is part-aged in rare Mizunara oak casks, alongside whisky matured in sherry and bourbon barrels. The result is a perfectly balanced dram, rich in bright, complex flavours with a touch of soft sweetness, reflecting both the essence of Tokyo and Glenmorangie’s signature style.
Tasting Note by Glenmorangie:The whisky fuses notes of pepper with bitter cherries and mouth-watering orange zest with incense and sweet oak – a unique and complex flavour profile resulting from the recipe of Mizunara oak, Bourbon and Sherry casks.
A unique single malt from the budding Lochlea distillery in the Lowlands, exclusively bottled for Inverarity Morton! Established in 2018, this whisky was produced in the distillery's second year and was stored in an ex-red wine hogshead in February 2020. By 2023, 410 bottles were extracted from this cask, with no added colour, no chill filtration, and at a powerful cask strength of 61.2% ABV.
Tasting Note by Lochlea:Nose: Ripe strawberries and blackcurrents on the nose which opens up to zesty notes of vanilla.Palate: A hint of sweetness comes through on the palate.Finish: A beautiful finish of strawberries and cream.
The 12 Year Old Aberfeldy is a delightful spirit, presenting a sweet honey touch intermingled with notes of fruit, spices, ample vanilla, and a faint wisp of smoke. Its intricate flavor profile results from maturing in a diverse assortment of Sherry, Bourbon, re-fill, and re-char casks. An interesting aspect of its aging process is the 'Angels' Share', which refers to the portion of whisky that vanishes during its time in oak casks, with nearly one-third of the Aberfeldy 12 Year Old being lost before bottling. This exceptional whisky, known as the Golden Dram, has received global recognition, clinching over 150 Gold Medals from leading spirit competitions.
Tasting Note by Aberfeldy: Scented with spiced and honeyed plump fruits and syrupy with lots of vanilla, fudge and just a whisper of smoke on the finish.
Aged in port wine and ex-bourbon casks, The Spectacular reveals an intriguing blend of fragrant lavender, incense, and rich almond nuttiness. Perfectly summed up as a 'spectacle' of peculiar, but addictive notes and flavours.
Tasting Note by Ardbeg:Nose: Curiously perfumed and aromatic, with lovely, fragrant top notes like lavender, vetiver and incense candles. Underneath this are some deeper notes, a touch of leather, some almond nuttiness, and a touch of wax. A splash of water opens up the bouquet, revealing touches of woodsmoke, damp peat moss, a hint of menthol and more antique leather.Palate: The mouthfeel is salty, but viscous at the same time, and leads in to a burst of huge, salty, savoury, smoky flavours- eucalyptus oil, salted caramel toffee, smoked pecan nuts, fragrant woodsmoke, creosote and tar. There is also a background sweetness, like a smoky pear crumble and some fudge.Finish: Finally on the long lingering aftertaste, more leather, salted caramel and a cooling mentholic sensation.
Benriach Malting Season Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a celebration of traditional whisky-making methods that harken back to the earliest days of the Benriach Distillery. This expression is particularly unique because it's the first in a century to be produced entirely using barley malted at the distillery's historic floor maltings in Speyside.
The whisky is crafted with great care, reflecting the distillery's heritage and dedication to traditional processes. The first edition of Benriach Malting Season undergoes a two-cask maturation process, aging in bourbon and virgin oak barrels. This maturation process is chosen to highlight and enhance the wholesome, creamy flavors characteristic of Benriach's floor-malted spirit. The result is a beautiful barley gold-colored liquid with a rich aroma of barley sugar, almond fudge, and poached orchard apple.
On the palate, this expression offers smooth, rounded flavors of vanilla and honeyed pear, accompanied by a lasting nuttiness from the slowly kilned malt. The small batch release comprises 23 barrels, all distilled on 2nd November 2012, and it yields a total of 6,672 bottles. Benriach Malting Season is a tribute to the craftsmanship and heritage of Speyside whisky-making.

Originally set aside to become a 12 year old single barrel, this whisky was found to have developed a subtle smoky flavour upon tasting, due to being distilled immediately after peat week, even though the barley used was unpeated. It matured for 14 years in some of Balvenie's finest bourbon casks.
Tasting Note by Balvenie:Nose: Velvety sweetness, rich toffee and smouldering oak reveal crisp citrus aromas and ever flowing honey musk.Palate: Candied orange peel is grounded in woody, earthy flavours from beautifully roasted malt and deep vanilla oakiness.
The 12 Years Old whisky pairs perfectly with Parmigiano-Reggiano, as its rich malt character balances the cheese’s dryness. In return, the cheese serves as a foundation that amplifies the whisky’s sweet fruitiness and highlights its clean barley notes.
Tasting Note by Glen Garioch:Nose: The colour of sharp honey, on the nose heathery floral notes are balanced with the richness of poached pears and the sweetness of malted barley.Palate: Crème brûlée and sweet ripe banana at first, then comes a light oakiness with pear fruitiness, leading to a long smooth, creamy and fragrant finish.
The BenRiach Malting Season 2 celebrates the distillery's restored traditional malting floor, using hand-malted Concerto barley distilled in autumn 2013 and matured in first-fill bourbon casks until it was bottled in 2022 at 48.9% ABV. This process preserves the pure flavour of the raw ingredient, showcasing a whisky crafted entirely from barley malted in-house at BenRiach.
