In the creation of Highland Park 15 Year Old Viking Heart, Gordon Motion, Highland Park's Master Whisky Maker, carefully curated a selection of predominantly sherry seasoned European oak casks to infuse warm and spicy notes. This limited edition Aberfeldy 21 Year Old, distilled on November 14, 2001, spent over 20 years maturing in re-fill barrels and hogsheads. The whisky was then finished for approximately eight months in French Oak casks from Finca Ambrosía, a single estate winery in Argentina. This finishing process adds a layer of Malbec influence, with flavours of blackberry, plum, and black cherry complementing Aberfeldy’s characteristic notes.
