    Octomore 14.3 5 Year Old

The Islay barley for Octomore 14.3 is sourced just two miles away from the distillery at Octomore farm, resulting in a single malt that prominently showcases its cereal characteristics. This spirit stands as a testament to the pivotal role of the raw ingredient and the revitalization of the farming community responsible for its cultivation. Under the skilled guidance of Head Distiller, Adam Hannett, this high-provenance single malt extracts the essence of the Islay barley. Aged in a blend of first-fill ex-American whiskey casks and second-fill wine casks, the wooden notes complement rather than overpower the grain, preserving the distinct taste and essence of the Islay barley's origin. Tasting Note by Bruichladdich:Nose: Transporting you to the Bruichladdich Distillery courtyard, the aromas of hot, sweet mash are unmistakable on the nose. This soft, biscuity malt is followed by peat smoke and an assortment of sweet, stoned fruits, with ripe apricots, peach and honey-drizzled pears. Candied lemon peels add a hint of citrus, balanced with butterscotch, honeycomb, chocolate and vanilla ice cream.Palate: Delicate oak notes immediately come through, followed by the presence of smouldering peat. Floral hints of gorse and honeysuckle rise above the malty Islay-grown barley, which is rich and sweet with creamy porridge and cereal notes. The structure of the French oak, together with the sweet vanilla and toffee of the American oak, combine beautifully, bringing a harmonious balance to the palate.Finish: Malted barley and earthy smoke dominate, followed by lingering notes of sweet barley sugar. Caramel and vanilla add a final touch of rounded sweetness.

  • Port Charlotte 2012 9 Year Old SC:01 - JPHA Port Charlotte 2012 9 Year Old SC:01 - JPHA

    Port Charlotte 2012 9 Year Old SC:01

The SC: 01 2012 vintage was exclusively conceived, cultivated, distilled, aged, and bottled on Islay. The barley used for this vintage was harvested in 2011 and supplied by seven local farmers, all situated within a 10-mile radius of the distillery. Showcasing the unique Islay terroir, this locally-sourced barley is enriched with a detailed cask formulation. The barley is malted to a peat level of 40ppm by maltsters on the Scottish mainland. Afterward, it's brought back to Islay for distillation. Using tall, slender-necked stills, the distillation process aims for the utmost elegance and delicacy. The spirit then embarks on a tripartite maturation journey. This vintage is a fusion of sherry butts, first and second fill American whiskey barrels, which were transferred at varying maturation stages into some of the premier Sauternes wine casks sourced from the left bank of the Garonne River in Bordeaux. Tasting Note by Bruichladdich:Nose: Sweet, stone fruit and a delicate floral perfume on the nose with hints of peaches in syrup, dried apricots, honeyed melon and ripe pineapple. Brown sugar, vanilla-fudge, caramel and marzipan are followed by heady notes of honeysuckle and heather. Peat smoke and warm toasted oak come through with a little time to bring depth and complexity to the dram.Palate: The warmth and supple texture of this dram elegantly coats the palate and brings a balance of light peat smoke and ripe fruit. Another sip confirms both the beautiful viscosity and depth of flavour, as beneath the delicate smoke comes earthy notes of leather and boot polish. The oak brings strength and sweet vanilla, chocolate and citrus to complement the waves of fruit.Finish: A dram you wish would last forever, the wonderful marine notes and earthy peat smoke linger on the palate with a citrus tang.

  • Sale -15%New Release Bunnahabhain 15 Year Old Turas Math No.1 (The Westering Home Collection) Bunnahabhain 15 Year Old Turas Math No.1 (The Westering Home Collection)

Bunnahabhain 15 Year Old Turas Math No.1 (The Westering Home Collection)

Founded in 1881 on the remote northern shore of Islay, Bunnahabhain sits at the end of a single-track road on the Sound of Islay, making it one of the most isolated and characterful distilleries in Scotland. Its unusually tall, pear-shaped stills with elongated swan necks produce a lighter, oilier spirit than its Islay neighbours, and the distillery is notably one of the few on the island to work with unpeated barley. Mineral-rich water drawn from the Margadale Spring, sea air rolling in off the Sound, and a philosophy of non-chill filtration without added colour define the Bunnahabhain house style across every expression. Turas Math No.1 is the opening release in the Westering Home Collection, a three-part series rooted in the distillery's maritime heritage. The whisky is a marriage of two exceptional cask journeys, personally selected by Master Blender Julieann Fernandez. The first parcel was distilled in 2008 and spent its full 15 years maturing in Manzanilla Sherry casks from Jerez. The second parcel matured for a decade in refill casks before receiving a five-year finish in Amarone wine casks from the Veneto region of Italy. The union of these two paths produces a whisky of layered sweetness, coastal character and considered complexity, bottled at cask strength without chill-filtration or added colour. A compelling collector's release and an equally distinguished gift. Tasting Note by Bunnahabhain:Nose: A burst of dark fruits including black cherries, plums, and blackberries, intertwined with cloves and roasted nuts.Palate: Fresh cinnamon pastries and treacle toffee blend with hazelnut, dried figs, and soft herbal notes.Finish: Warm spices linger on the palate, accented by a hint of sea spray.

  • Sale -6%New Release Aberfeldy 18 Year Old Sangiovese Red Wine Finish Aberfeldy 18 Year Old Sangiovese Red Wine Finish

Aberfeldy 18 Year Old Sangiovese Red Wine Finish

Initially matured in a combination of refill and hogshead casks, this Aberfeldy expression is finished in first-fill Sangiovese wine casks sourced from the Valdarno di Sopra region in Tuscany, Italy. Cask finishing is a refined practice, where a whisky that has matured predominantly in one type of cask is transferred to another for a final period of ageing. This method is intended not to alter the distillery’s core character, but to enhance it—introducing new layers of flavour that work in harmony with Aberfeldy’s signature style. The use of first-fill Sangiovese casks imparts notable depth and rich fruitiness, adding complexity without overpowering. As with all Aberfeldy expressions, this whisky is non-chill filtered and retains its natural colour, reflecting both authenticity and careful cask selection. Tasting Note by Aberfeldy:Ripe cherries and succulent red plums beautifully layered with candied orange peel and honeyed figs, then delicate floral notes of violets. Subtle clove spice emerge, complemented by a touch of vanilla and toasted oak.
