This 16 Year Old expression is a marriage of whiskies matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and fine wine and fortified wine casks, then finished in sequence across four further cask types — Port pipes, Oloroso sherry casks, wine casks, and a final, delicate rest in Fino Sherry butts. Where last year's Release No. 1 was shaped by American oak wine casks and second-fill bourbon, this new edition adds a fourth layer of cask influence — deeper, richer, and more complex still.
On the nose, rich stewed fruits unfold alongside marzipan and polished leather. On the palate, mellow toffee sweetness meets caramelised cane sugar, balanced by dry oak tannin. The finish is long, oaky, and quietly assured.
Bottled at 43% ABV, this is Glenfiddich at its most awarded — with more accolades since 2000 than any other single malt Scotch whisky across the IWSC and ISC, two of the industry's most prestigious competitions.

Distilled on 12th July 2000 and matured for two decades in a refill puncheon, this double cask expression was finished in a Tokaji (white wine) cask from 12th August 2021, chosen and overseen personally by Royal Brackla's Malt Master, Stephanie Macleod.
Royal Brackla holds a unique place in whisky history as the first single malt ever granted a Royal Warrant, earning it the name "The King's Own Whisky." Founded in 1812 by Captain William Fraser, the distillery's Highland character has always leaned toward the elegant and the fruit-driven, qualities this cask brings fully into focus.
The Tokaji finish draws on Hungary's celebrated dessert wine tradition, known for its botrytis-affected grapes and concentrated, honeyed sweetness. That influence shows clearly here: ripe peaches and apricots up front, mellowed by frangipane and a soft, lingering note of coconut.

Bunnahabhain distilled this whisky in 1999. Ten years later, it was moved into an Amontillado sherry cask, then Oloroso, then Manzanilla — three casks applied in sequence rather than simultaneously, each one following the last. Seven years of sequential finishing followed the initial ten years of maturation, for twenty-three years total.
Bunnahabhain is one of the few distilleries on Islay producing unpeated whisky. This bottle carries no peat. It is bottled at cask strength, 53.3%, non-chill filtered, with no added colour.
This release is one of 4,002 individually numbered bottles from the Feis Île 2024 release, Bunnahabhain's annual festival bottling. It is not part of the distillery's standard core range.

Distilled and matured at the Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown, at the heart of Speyside, this 21 year old expression represents one of the most distinctive releases in the distillery's core range. Founded in 1887 by William Grant, Glenfiddich remains family owned and is one of the most celebrated single malt producers in Scotland. Two decades of patient maturation in traditional oak casks allows the distillery's signature character to develop fully before Malt Master Brian Kinsman hand selects individual barrels for the final stage.
Those selected casks are transferred into Caribbean reserva rum casks for a finishing period that introduces a layer of tropical warmth and spice to the established Speyside foundation. The result is a whisky of considerable complexity, balancing the restrained richness of a long Speyside maturation with the more animated character that rum cask finishing imparts. At 40% ABV, it is approachable without sacrificing depth, and presents exceptionally well as a gift or a considered addition to a maturing collection.

Laphroaig Distillery has stood on the southern shore of Islay since 1815, producing what remains one of the most distinctive and recognisable single malts in the world. The Ian Hunter series pays homage to the last member of the Johnston family to own and manage the distillery, a man whose vision shaped Laphroaig's identity in ways that endure to this day. It was Ian Hunter who introduced American oak ex-bourbon barrels to the maturation process following his travels to the United States, and who established the malting floors that remain in use at the distillery. An annual limited edition from The Dalmore, matured first in American white oak ex-bourbon casks for a soft base of vanilla and honey, then finished in 30-year-old Matusalem Oloroso sherry casks — supplied exclusively to The Dalmore by the González Byass bodega in Spain. No other distillery has access to this cask condition.
The finishing casks rest in the cold, damp dunnage warehouses at The Dalmore Distillery, allowing the whisky to develop its full character: a rich, deep chocolate depth layered over the bourbon-cask foundation.

Named the world's best blended Scotch at the 2025 World Whiskies Awards, the Dewar's Double Double 21 Year Old is the result of a method most distilleries have never attempted.
The Double Double sequence uses four casks — not in parallel, but in order. Bourbon first, to lay the foundation. Sherry second, for dark fruit and depth. Marsala third, adding richness no single finish can reach. Finally, Madeira — a fortified wine cask almost absent from Scotch production — closes the sequence with a warmth collectors specifically seek and rarely find.
Twenty-one years for the sequence to complete. Bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered. Nothing removed that belongs in it.
The result is velvety and unhurried — deep notes of ripe fruit, sweet honey, and dark chocolate, with a sherried finish that lingers long after the glass is empty.
