Due to its rarity, costliness, and tendency to form knots, it is an infrequently chosen wood for whisky maturation.

Following The Glenmorangie Company’s acquisition in 1997, Ardbeg underwent extensive renovation, and by the millennium, production was reignited, ushering in a new era for Islay’s legendary distillery.
This 24 Year Old expression brings together spirit distilled on Ardbeg’s old stills with innovative modern techniques. Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and hand-selected Amontillado sherry casks, it showcases Dr Bill Lumsden’s favourite style of sherry, adding depth and elegance to Ardbeg’s trademark smoky intensity. Released to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Ardbeg Committee, Vintage Y2K is a unique fusion of old and new, representing a true smoky anomaly in the distillery’s story.
Tasting Notes by Ardbeg:Nose: Deep, pungent and spicy with creamy toffee, flowering blackcurrant, creosote, coal tar soap, antique leather and almond nuts. With water, notes of charcoal, graphite and damp moss emerge, finishing with a distinct sooty character.Palate: Powerful and smoky with coal tar, woodsmoke and antiseptic lozenges intertwined with bonfire embers. The pinnacle of GlenDronach’s artistry, this inaugural 2025 edition is crafted from a selection of casks distilled in 1978, 1983, and 1984. Initially aged in PX and Oloroso sherry casks, the whiskies were vatted and further married in a first-fill PX puncheon and a second-fill Oloroso puncheon before bottling. The result is a whisky polished by over four decades of maturation, exuding unparalleled richness, velvet texture, and multi-layered dark fruit character.

Re-imagined as a 15 Year Old, The Lasanta is Glenmorangie’s sherry cask finished single malt, matured in bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks for a richer and more elegant expression. A refined Champagne from an exceptionally hot year, that yielded fantastic red pinot noir grapes. It offers delicate notes of citrus, white peach, and almond, balanced by fresh acidity and fine bubbles. The finish lingers on a delicate bitterness evoking fresh almonds.

First introduced in 1992 by Booker Noe as part of the Small Batch collection, Basil Hayden was crafted to showcase a more subtle side of bourbon. Inspired by Meredith Basil Hayden, Sr., an 18th-century Maryland rye farmer who moved to Kentucky, this bourbon pays tribute to his decision to use a higher percentage of rye in his mash bill. Booker revived this approach, creating a refined, approachable bourbon designed to welcome new drinkers into whiskey while honouring both Hayden’s ingenuity and his own innovation.

Legent is the result of a collaboration between Fred Noe, seventh-generation Master Distiller of Jim Beam, and Suntory’s fifth-ever Chief Blender, Shinji Fukuyo. Crafted from premium grains and Kentucky limestone water, the whiskey begins as Kentucky Straight Bourbon before portions are matured in red wine and sherry casks. Fukuyo then blends these secondary-finished bourbons with classic Kentucky bourbon, merging two traditions into one expression.
This innovative process results in a whiskey that balances the rich sweetness of bourbon with layered notes influenced by wine and sherry oak, creating a refined spirit with remarkable depth.

As part of the Mizunara Series, this expression represents a core extension of the Yamazaki brand, highlighting the artistry and rarity of Japanese Mizunara oak. Known for its distinctive aroma and flavour, Mizunara has been integral to Yamazaki since the 1940s, when scarcity of American oak after the war led to its adoption. The wood is notoriously difficult to work with, requiring trees over 200 years old and more than 70 cm in diameter to yield usable casks, making each release a rare achievement.
Matured exclusively in Mizunara oak for 18 years, this whisky captures the complexity and depth associated with Japan’s most elusive cask type. The Mizunara oak imparts notes of sandalwood, agarwood, and oriental spice, complementing Yamazaki’s refined character.

This is a meticulously crafted blended malt, made using Dewar’s unique four-stage ageing process.
