Dom Pérignon Vintage 2017 is a vintage Champagne shaped by an unusually contrasting growing season. The year moved from a mild beginning into severe spring frost, followed by hot and dry conditions and then rainfall at the end of August. Careful selection at harvest was particularly important, with the Chardonnay reaching its highest level of ripeness since 2000, while selected Pinot Noir retained a balance between maturity and freshness.
The character of Vintage 2017 reflects these contrasts. Dom Pérignon describes the wine through the tension between opulence and edge, roundness and straightness, combining generous maturity with the mineral tension associated with the Maison.
