The Aberfeldy 21 Year Old Argentinian Malbec Cask Finish is the result of a remarkable collaboration between Malt Master Stephanie Macleod and award-winning winemaker Daniel Pi of Finca Ambrosia, one of Argentina's most prestigious estates. Having travelled to the Uco Valley in Argentina, Stephanie personally selected Malbec casks from Finca Ambrosia to bring an entirely new dimension to the Aberfeldy character — a partnership between two masters of their craft that has produced something genuinely distinctive within the distillery's wine cask series.
Aberfeldy Distillery was established in 1898 in Perthshire, drawing process water from the gold-laced Pitilie Burn and producing a fruity, richly honeyed Highland single malt in alembic copper pot stills crafted by Forsyths. Here, 21 years of patient maturation have been completed by a finishing period in Malbec wine casks, which lend vivid red fruit character, gentle floral notes and a subtle tartness that sits in elegant balance with the distillery's signature honeyed sweetness. Bottled at 46% ABV, this limited edition release is as well suited to the collector as it is to the enthusiast seeking something beyond the expected.

In the most recent Limited Edition release from Ledaig, the whisky brims with flavor, having been fully matured in red wine casks and bottled at cask strength (56.8% ABV). This particular expression of peated Ledaig has enjoyed 9 years of maturation in the finest Bordeaux red wine casks. The result is a whisky with distinct notes of heather, pine cones, woody sea salt, and floral undertones that linger on the finish. Tobermory 27 Year Old is the fifth and final expression in the distillery’s Hebridean Series, bringing the collection to a close with its oldest and most powerful release.
Initially matured in ex-bourbon casks, the whisky spent a further 12 years in González Byass Oloroso sherry casks, developing a rich and concentrated character while retaining Tobermory’s distinctive fruit-led style. Bottled at 53.1% ABV, it is also the highest-strength expression of the later Hebridean releases.
The extended Oloroso maturation brings layers of dark fruit, warming spice and mature oak, complemented by brighter notes of apricot, orange and pineapple. At 27 years old, it represents the culmination of the series’ progression through increasingly long periods of sherry maturation.
Presented as Expression 5, Tobermory 27 Year Old is a fitting final chapter for collectors of the Hebridean Series and an impressive example of long-aged, heavily sherried Tobermory.

The Balvenie French Oak stands as a vibrant single malt whisky that has undergone a finishing period in casks previously cradling wine sourced from the renowned French Charentes vineyards.
Pineau des Charentes, a fortified wine, is crafted by blending unfermented grape juice with Cognac eau-de-vie, followed by a maturation process. This distinctive wine is also crafted as a homemade product in the neighboring Deau-Sevres and Vendee regions.
The inspiration for this exploration into French Oak casks came from a suggestion by The Balvenie USA brand ambassador, Lorne Cousin. He urged Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE to consider these casks after a visit to the region with his family, where he fondly remembered savoring an aperitif.
This release marks The Balvenie's initial foray into the realm of French Oak. Pineau, resembling Cognac both in production and flavor, allows them to leverage the growing popularity of this flavor profile, complemented by its premium standing.

Founded in 1881 on the remote northern shore of Islay, Bunnahabhain sits at the end of a single-track road on the Sound of Islay, making it one of the most isolated and characterful distilleries in Scotland.
