Laphroaig Select is a classic Islay single malt that laid the foundation for what would later become Select Oak. This earlier expression brings together Laphroaig’s signature medicinal peat smoke with a subtle touch of sweetness and spice, offering a more accessible style while retaining the bold character the distillery is known for.
Crafted from a blend of cask types—including Oloroso sherry butts, American white oak, and seasoned Bourbon barrels—Laphroaig Select balances smoky depth with notes of vanilla, orchard fruit, and a gentle floral edge. Part of the Master Blender’s Selection, this single cask Speyside malt was distilled on 23/04/10 and bottled in March 2025. Finished in a rare Chinquapin barrel, it’s non-chill filtered, natural colour, and bottled at a powerful 61.6% ABV. The BenRiach Malting Season 2 celebrates the distillery's restored traditional malting floor, using hand-malted Concerto barley distilled in autumn 2013 and matured in first-fill bourbon casks until it was bottled in 2022 at 48.9% ABV.
