Tasting Note by Loch Lomond:Nose: Crisp green apple, ripe pear and refreshing citrus lemon with background notes of golden cereal.Palate: Orchard fruits and lemon meringue. The deep fruity character of pear leads into citrus lemon, vanilla meringue and light biscuit sweetness.Finish: Medium in length with gentle wood smoke and a lingering tang.
Glenglassaugh's Peated Virgin Oak Wood combines sweet earthiness with its coastal peated spirit. Matured in American Virgin Oak casks, Glenglassaugh develops rich candy and fresh spice notes, evoking a seaside confectionery. Bottled at 46%, it retains its natural colour and is non-chill filtered.
Tasting Note:Nose: Initially sweet, combining sweet peat, oak spices, vanilla, and dried coconut. Evolves to clean smoke, with hints of sea breeze on a warm wooden deck and honeyed peaches and apricots.Palate: Sweet and dry peat smoke, slightly ashy. Sweet spicy oak and honey are prominent, with a hint of coconut. A brief fruity burst is followed by vanilla and honey.Finish: Medium-length finish featuring peat smoke, honey, fruit, and a lasting spicy oak.
The whisky blend known as "Yamazakura Peated" is a combination of various malt whiskies, including some from the Asaka distillery, as well as grain whisky made from corn. It contains 30% malted barley and is aged for three years in first-fill ex-Bourbon, ex-Oloroso, and ex-Pedro Ximénez casks. Notably, it remains uncolored and undergoes no chill-filtering, preserving its natural character.
