Royal Brackla 19 Year Old Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish is part of the distillery’s Exceptional Cask Series, a range of small-batch and limited releases selected by Malt Master Stephanie Macleod. Royal Brackla was established in 1812 and is known as The King’s Own Whisky, having been the first single malt Scotch whisky to be granted a Royal Warrant.
Distilled on 24th June 2004, this whisky was matured initially in refill barrels and refill hogsheads before being finished in an Oloroso Sherry hogshead. The finishing process is carefully controlled to complement and elevate Royal Brackla’s signature Highland character rather than mask it. Oloroso sherry casks are known to contribute depth and richness, often associated with darker, spiced fruit notes and gentle nuttiness, while maintaining balance within the spirit.
Bottled as a limited release at natural cask strength, this expression reflects both extended maturation and precise cask management.
Tasting Notes by Royal Brackla:With the lightest touch of Oloroso Sherry finish, the nose is led with vanilla, notes of coconut and ripe honeydew melon, with a trace of cinnamon and star anise.
A limited annual release from Bowmore, matured for three decades in a combination of Sherry hogsheads and Bourbon barrels. Distilled and aged on Islay, the whisky reflects Bowmore’s coastal setting and longstanding tradition of producing complex, peated single malts.
This edition continues the distillery’s theme of drawing inspiration from the natural surroundings of Islay—driftwood, sea glass, and the ever-present influence of the sea. Torfa is a 2014 release from Glenglassaugh, marking a significant addition to Glenglassaugh portfolio. This expression is fully matured in ex-bourbon barrels and features a peat level of 20ppm (parts per million). Notably, Torfa represents the first peated whisky produced by this revived distillery.

This distinctive malt, matured solely in hand-selected sherry casks for a remarkable 25 years, represents a significant addition to the Glengoyne lineup. It is showcased in a newly designed, substantial bottle and outer packaging. The bottle is adorned with a finely crafted metal stopper, an intricate cartouche, and a subtly branded neck tag, all elegantly presented within an oak box interior featuring an engraved plinth.
